1. No candidate is allowed to enter an examination venue later than 1 hour after the examination had started, or to leave an examination venue within this same period (that is, the first 10 minutes reading time plus 50 minutes thereafter). For example, if an examination begins at 9.00am, with 10 minutes given for reading, no candidate will be allowed to enter the examination venue later than 10.00 am. Similarly, no candidate will be allowed to leave the venue earlier than 10.00 am. For tests, no candidate is allowed to take a test later than 1/2 hour after the test had started, or to leave the test venue within this same period.

2. If a candidate is late for an examination/test and subsequently sees a doctor and obtains a medical certificate, any application for leave of absence from that examination/test will not be accepted. The same applies if a candidate starts the examination/test or sees the question paper but does not complete the examination/test for reasons of illness and subsequently obtains a medical certificate, any application for leave of absence from that examination/test will not be accepted. Candidates are advised to see a doctor if they are unwell and not attempt to turn up for the examination/test.

3. The identity of all candidates will be checked during the examination/test. Candidates must bring their 91pro视频 Student Card and place it at the right hand corner of their examination desk at the commencement of each examination/test.

4. Candidates may read the examination/test paper or commence writing only after the invigilator has given permission to do so. Candidates are also required to check that they are given the correct question paper.

5. If a candidate leaves the venue after the papers have been given out, he will not be allowed to return to the venue unless he has been accompanied by an invigilator while he was away.

6. Candidates are not allowed to bring to the examination/test venue any form of unauthorised materials such as notes, drawings, pictures, tracings, books, dictionaries (both in book or electronic form), etc, nor access any other resources, other than those specially permitted by the examiner/invigilator. They are also not allowed to wear caps or hats during the examination/test.

7. Handphones, media players and any other electronic or communication devices e.g. smart watches (such as Apple watch, Galaxy watch, etc) and Google glasses are also not allowed. Handphones, alarms, media players and any other electronic or communication devices must be switched off and left at the front/back of the examination/test venue. If a candidate's handphone or communication device rings or sounds, he/she will be issued a warning letter for the first offence and fined a sum of $50 for each subsequent offence.

8. Candidates may, when they are taking a practical examination/test, take into the examination/test centre such books or papers as are authorised by the examiners/invigilators.

9. Unless otherwise stated, a candidate may use an approved, non-programmable, electronic calculator and drawing instruments, provided they contain only the "Approved for use in 91pro视频 Examinations" sticker, the manufacturers' mark and nothing else.
   
   - Only calculators with "Approved for use in 91pro视频 Examinations" stickers attached to them are permitted for personal use in the examination/test venues. The stickers, obtainable from academic schools, must not be tampered with or altered in any way, and should remain intact on the calculators.
   - The calculators must be (i) non-programmable, (ii) battery-operated only, (iii) silent and (iv) without any remote communication capability.
   - Any candidate who brings a calculator in a calculator case must detach the calculator case and place it on the floor below his desk before the start of the examination/test. No lending or borrowing of calculators will be allowed during the examination/test.
   - Candidates must ensure that their calculators are in good working condition. Request for replacement during the examination/test will not be allowed.

10. Candidates are not allowed to pass anything to other candidates during the examination/test.

11. A candidate must not, for any reason, speak to or have communication with another candidate in any form, whether physically or digitally (e.g. via WhatsApp Web, Telegram, etc). If any candidate wishes to ask a question, he must ask the invigilator directly; but no questions on the meaning or interpretation of an examination/test question may be asked or will be answered.

12. Any candidate who wishes to communicate with an invigilator must remain seated and raise his hand.

13. Candidates' answer scripts, unless previously given up, will be collected at the time fixed for the end of the examination/test.

14. Candidates must not leave the venue close to the end of the examination/test until the invigilator tells them to do so.

15. Candidates must leave the answer books, drawing papers and other examination/test materials on the table. However, for some modules, candidates are allowed to take away the question paper only.

16. Candidates must not eat or drink during the examination/test. However, candidates may request for permission from the invigilator to drink water from their own water bottles.

17. If a candidate is found breaking any of these rules during the examination/test or afterwards, his paper will not be marked, and he may be told to leave the examination/test venue.

18. Any action by a candidate contrary to the letter or spirit of these rules whether discovered during the examination/test or afterwards will disqualify the candidate.

19. Disciplinary action will be taken against any candidate found breaching of any of the examination/test rules, caught cheating or attempting to cheat.

Cheating, attempting to cheat or abetting in cheating in examinations and other assessed course work is a very serious offence. This includes possession of unauthorised materials (including handphones, media players and any other electronic devices) during examinations/test/assessments; and committing plagiarism (passing off someone else鈥檚 work as your own).

Any student who breaches any of the rules will face disciplinary action which can include failing the module, failing all registered modules in the semester, or being expelled from the Polytechnic.
