BCA recently encouraged projects to use Granite Fines (GF) as an alternative to natural sand for concrete production. GF is a by-product generated from crushing/mining granite aggregates, which makes it more environmentally sustainable and acceptable compared to natural sand. With the anticipated increase in the adoption of GF, there is a need to study if the possibility of stockpiling GF is appropriate. There are concerns in stockpiling GF due to the perception that GF, being light, can be easily blown away by wind. This project studies the loss of GF due to wind conditions via Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) numerical simulation.

This project studies the performance of Large Language Models for curating datasets of vulnerable functions by classifying vulnerability-fixing commits. It assesses Large Language Models trained on these curated datasets for Vulnerability Detection. This provides empirical evidence to demonstrate the effectiveness of Large Language Models. Through qualitative analysis, the team showed that Large Language Models can automatically curate accurate, diverse, and large datasets of vulnerable functions. The work done by the team can be used to streamline Vulnerability Detection research efforts and significantly reduce time spent on laborious labelling tasks.

Station operation staff are responsible for the management of crowds during peak hours and/or during service degradation. Hence, staff competency in carrying out first-line recovery of systems such as Platform Screen Door (PSD) is critical. However, conducting practical training for such faults is only possible during engineering hours (i.e 01:30am~04:30am), resulting in time/training resources constraints.

This project involves engineering a V2X platform at 91pro视频 Smart Campus using DSRC and Cellular-V2X tech to redefine sustainable, smart mobility. The focus spans V2X wireless connectivity, 5G, AI, data analytics, IoT, and intelligent Electric Vehicle (EV) charging (V2G and V2H). In line with Smart Mobility 2030, the aim was to implement 5G-AIoT prototypes and smart EV charging solutions using V2X technologies. Safety gets a tech boost too, as V2V communication expands drivers' visibility range, enhancing road safety and response times. Plus, the LoRaWAN-enabled sensors guide EV owners to available charging lots with pinpoint precision. It's a transformative project for smarter, safer, and more sustainable transport.

In today's fast-paced world, workplace safety is more critical than ever, and this project aims to advance workplace safety through technology. Starting June 2024, companies will have to deploy video surveillance systems at construction sites for projects valued at $5 million or more to enhance worker safety. The project partnered Sembcorp Solar on a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) detection system using video analytics. Focusing on rooftop workers' safety during solar panel installations, the solution employs advanced cameras and AI algorithms to proactively monitor and ensure PPE compliance. Instant alerts enable swift intervention, preventing accidents and protecting workers.
