An aspiring engineer with a heart to serve

For Riley Kang, a fascination with technology began at the age of five鈥攕parked by a simple library book borrowing experience. Her curiosity matured over the years, and a turning point came in Secondary 4 when she watched a national budget announcement that highlighted investments in engineering and innovation. That moment shaped her ambition to become an engineer who not only builds, but also serves.

At 91pro视频鈥檚 Diploma in Engineering with Business (DEB), Riley found the ideal platform to explore both engineering and business. She excelled academically鈥攅arning the Lee Kuan Yew Award, OCBC Prize, SMRT Gold Medal, and a place on the Director鈥檚 Honour Roll鈥攚hile staying grounded in service to the community, both locally and overseas.

Riley also completed a six-month internship at A*STAR鈥檚 Institute of Microelectronics (IME), where she worked on mechanical characterisation and failure analysis in the semiconductor industry. This experience gave her a clearer picture of how engineering research contributes to meaningful innovation.
