Media, Arts
& Design School

Overview

Diploma in Media, Arts & Design (DMAD) is a merger of 8 diplomas into a single diploma. These collective diplomas shared a common trajectory into the media, arts and design sectors. For the benefit of our student body, the school unified these courses into into a single diploma, with 7 specialisations.

All our first-year DMAD students will be immersed in a common foundation semester called the 鈥淔oundry鈥 before choosing their specialisation. They will continue to work collaboratively across specialisations, building a transdisciplinary mindset.

This holistic approach is in response to the rapid shifts and disruptions to the creative landscape. The consolidation allowed for a more robust curriculum, empowering our students to pivot with agility to the dynamic needs of the creative industry.

At the heart of this evolution is our students鈥 best interest. MAD is dedicated to equip our graduates with confidence that enables them to forge ahead into their future creative pathways.

DIRECTOR'S WELCOME
MARK LU

We are Makers, Adventurers and Dreamers. Here at MAD, our vision is to shape creative talents so together, we can contribute to a more creative and imaginative Singapore.

I am absolutely thrilled and deeply honoured to step into the role of Director here at the Media, Arts, and Design School. It's a privilege to lead such a vibrant community dedicated to creativity and innovation.

Having once been part of the choir, drama club, and even coding for games in my youth, I understand firsthand the transformative power of media, arts, and design. These disciplines aren't just about creating beautiful or functional things; they're about shaping narratives, challenging norms, and making a meaningful impact on society.

In today's fast-evolving world, the creatives of tomorrow must be versatile, equipped with diverse skill sets that complement each other. That's why here at MAD, we embrace the spirit of being a Maker, Adventurer, and Dreamer. We want to encourage our students and staff to explore, experiment, and dream big, to push creative boundaries in order to Make A Difference to those around us.

Whether you are a student, parent, alumni, industry partners or someone who is curious about what we do, I look forward to working alongside all of you as we continue to nurture talent, foster creativity, and inspire the next generation of innovators. Together, let's create, explore, and dream鈥攖he MAD way!
