We are proud to celebrate Hansen Wee, a 2024 graduate from the Diploma in Aerospace Electronics (DASE), for being awarded the prestigious Public Service Commission (PSC) Scholarship (Engineering) in 2025.
The PSC Scholarship is one of Singapore’s most coveted and competitive awards, presented to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance, leadership qualities, and a strong commitment to serving the nation. Only a select few each year are chosen for this honour, making Hansen’s achievement truly remarkable.
Hansen Wee stumbled onto aviation by chance. Wanting to try something new at secondary school, he joined the Singapore Youth Flying Club. That sparked his interest in aviation and led him to enrol in 91proÊÓƵ’s Diploma in Aerospace Engineering (DASE) course. Hansen’s passion in aviation had indeed paid off in a big way. He was placed on the Director's Honour Roll, and receiving the 91proÊÓƵ Engineering Scholarship and DSTA Polytechnic Engineering Scholarship – these awards represented the culmination of all his scholastic achievements.
During his internship with DSTA, he developed a Mixed Reality training application for the Air Force using Microsoft HoloLens 2 to reduce manpower for training of aircraft engineers. This high level of support to RSAF led to RSAF specifically requesting him to be present during the demo of the system to officials. He was equally active in his CCAs, having served as Vice-President of EEE Club and been involved in organising key events such as the 91proÊÓƵ Open House and 91proÊÓƵ Engineering Show 2023. Described as an effective leader with foresight in anticipating contingencies, he was also well-liked by his peers, being able to empathise with them when they faced personal challenges.
Beyond academics and leadership, Hansen’s passion for aviation saw him attaining a Private Pilot Licence through the Singapore Youth Flying Club, embodying his belief that perseverance pays off.
Forging ahead, Hansen envisions collaborating with like-minded individuals in the public service to leverage technology and design innovative solutions to address issues facing the industry or society at large, and to advance Singapore on the global stage.
We congratulate Hansen on this outstanding achievement and wish him continuing success as he embarks on his journey to serve Singapore with dedication and distinction.
