From 16 to 18 June 2025, 30 students from the Diploma in Optometry (DOPT) course participated in an overseas study trip to Kuala Lumpur and Malacca. The objective was to provide DOPT students with engagement and immersion opportunities at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Management and Science University (MSU), along with two prominent optometric practices in Malaysia, Vision Space Sdn Bhd and Eyecon at Mahkota Medical Centre.
The students visited the research and teaching facilities at the universities, including the Ophthalmologists Clinics at MSU Medical Centre. They gained valuable insights into the optometry education pathways at both universities, as well as their student-led community and leadership projects. Additionally, two DOPT students, Wayne Hoe and Jovan Teo, shared their personal experiences and perspectives on their optometry studies at 91pro视频. During the visits, students observed various advanced clinical diagnostic examination techniques.

At Vision Space, the students explored a fully equipped two-storey optometry practice, gaining inspiration on how optometrists provide primary eyecare in a private practice setting. At Eyecon in Mahkota Medical Centre, they observed how optometrists co-manage patients with ophthalmologists, delivering seamless eye care services through a fully digitalised process.
